Are you looking for ways to reduce your property taxes?

The Iowa Department of Revenue announced a Homestead Tax Exemption for Claimants 65 Years of Age or Older in a press release on May 15, 2023.

According to the release: Governor Reynolds signed House File 718, establishing a homestead tax exemption for claimants 65 years of age or older.  In addition to the homestead tax credit, eligible claimants who own the home they live in and are 65 years of age or older on or before January 1 of the assessment year are now eligible for a homestead tax exemption. For the assessment year beginning on January 1, 2023, the exemption is for $3,250 of taxable value.  For assessment years beginning on or after January 1, 2024, the exemption is for $6,500 of taxable value.  An exemption is a reduction in the taxable value of the property rather than a direct reduction in the amount of property tax you pay.

Kevin McManamy, President of United Real Estate Solutions, Inc. announced quarterly production awards for the company's top producers during a company breakfast at the United Center.

Earning the real estate industry's highest production honors for the 1st quarter, the President's Award, were Sheryl Ford, Joe Krage, Jeff Nelson, Dave Pepin & Adam Stokes, as well as Beau Braunger, Nic Madsen, and Erin Rooney of NAI United.

Claiming the Diamond Award was Rick Arnold, The Burnett Team – Chuck & Marian, and Mike Wojcik. The Platinum Award was presented to Rachel Raak-Law.

Receiving the Gold Award was Lexi Anderson and Lisa Guerra. Silver Award winners were Sydney McManamy-Hermann, Lee Quade, Nick Tramp, and Nathan Connelly of NAI United.
